EBA Fall Newsletter

11/08/2013

The 2013 Fall Issue of the Energy Bar Association's newsletter, EBA Update, is now available on-line.

In this edition, President Adrienne Clair remarks on the many EBA successes already achieved this Bar year, including the recent Mid-Year Meeting, the launch of the new EBA website, and numerous Committee and Chapter programs in the President’s Message.  The CFEBA Update on page 2 provides an initial report on the impressive results of the fundraising Gala held on Oct. 24, along with an overview of some of the worthy charities that will benefit from CFEBA’s fundraising efforts and the generosity of the EBA membership.  We also hear from one of the recent CFEBA Interns on his excellent experience working with the Research and Emerging Issues Group of the Colorado PUC this past summer.

Starting on page 1, Columnists Channing Strother and Gary Guy provide a detailed account of their recent interview with Chairman Wellinghoff, in which they admittedly “went right to the heart of the matter” to solicit the Chairman’s views of his own accomplishments during his tenure at the Commission now that it is drawing to a close.  Then, starting on page 5, we are treated with another great Judge’s Corner, courtesy of the FERC Practice & Administrative Law Judges.  The Guest Columnist this quarter is The Honorable Jennifer Whang, ALJ to FERC, who provides an overview of the ALJ hiring process.

We also hear from several Committees and Chapters sharing recent activities, accompanied by a few fun photos. The Update is rounded out with news on the upcoming inaugural Primer of the new EBA Primer Series, on page 8; a News Flash from the EBA Book Club with information on the current book of the quarter and ways to participate on page 14; and an overview of Upcoming Events on page 15.

We hope you enjoy this edition of EBA Update.
